Probably useless to most people here, but as an audiophile, I am excited to learn that V30 supports MQA playback.

The only thing bad so far looks to be the weak and non-removable battery.

Can be pretty sure that T-Mobile will carry it - as this will be the first device with band 71 (600MHz) that T-Mobile just purchased.

I had the v10 and loved it I had the v20 and didn't like it I already pre ordered the note 8 but I might wait for an Bogo deal on the v30

I want one. Sadly it'll be ~2yrs. I'm not paying $800-$1,000.

Nice phone, but I'll stick with my much cheaper G6 thank you very much. Just not enough difference for me to make the jump.

For comparisons sake, here's the difference between the two:

1- The V30 has a slightly larger OLED screen vs. the LCD screen on the G6. That doesn't mean it's better, just different. The LCD screen on the G6 is awesome, with excellent color reproduction and no chance of burn in, a possibility on the V30.

2- The obvious one: 835 vs. the 821 processor on the G6. Real world, you're not gonna tell any real difference as the 835 is better optimized for power efficiency, not staggering power gains. Yes the battery life may be improved, but the V30's got the same sized battery as the G6 with a larger screen, I'm calling it a wash on the battery life because of this. My partner has an S8+, and we can't tell the difference in power playing all of the same games. Seriously, there's no difference. As for audio, the improved DAC on the V30 is a welcome addition, but for those of us who use bluetooth headphones, it wont make any difference.

3- As is always the case, the V series phones are the video champs in LG's lineup, while the G series is for photo nuts like myself. The software and hardware on both are head and shoulders above any other flagships on the market, so depending on which way you lean, you're gonna be a winner here.

4- The real reason the G6 is my and I'm sure many others champ here is of course price. The V30 will be hundreds of dollars more expensive than the G6 which just keeps on dropping in price, and that gap, even after a few months, will still be large enough that the G6 will keep it's crown as the real flagship killer of 2017(yes, I know it's a flagship itself, that's what makes it so great!).

5- One last not so little thing: glass screen protectors. Curved edge screens simply have none, ask any Samsung Edge/S8/S8+/Note 8 user...that makes for less real world protection available to you. The flat screened G6 has no such issue, I just bought a three pack of said protectors for under 8 bucks on Amazon, easy peasy. For those of us with butter fingers this is a no brainer folks.

All told you really can't go wrong with either phone especially if you can pay either one off over time. You go LG, coming back like a champ for 2017!!

The V30 uses Qnovo tech, extending both battery life and total lifetime charge cycles. Works with the PMIC of the 835. There's also the Quick Charge 3.0.

For the lack of removable battery we get an IP68 waterproof phone.

In my experience LG build quality is above anyone else's.

I am thinking about getting the v30 I do love the look, hands down the note 8 and LG v30 are the best looking phones of 2017 and sorry but the iPhone 8 and x look ugly as hell

V20 was the best looking phone in 2016. Note 8 Best looking phone in 2017 IMO.

The V30, I would put it second after the Note 8 in 2017.

Don't get me started on the iphones....

The v30 looks nice but a little too expensive for my taste. There's an 800 camera I want to buy instead

If it was 399 may be more of a possiblity but 800+ for a phone is hard to justify for me at least

I am sure you can get the v30 for 399 to 499 in close to an year, phones Are not cheap yes that's an lot of money but it comes down to if you want and can afford it then go for it, I have the v10 and v20 and the S7, along with the ZTE zmax which is budget phone and I use it an lot

The Samsung with 600 is rumored to be a little cheaper. Definitely no rush for me though since band 4 works well for me

The battery is not so bad. I'm a fairly heavy user and the battery gets me through the day without having to connect to a charger.

I'll just mention in passing that if you are worried about battery life, setting your backgrounds and lock screens to be a solid pure black will turn off all the pixels and allow the P-OLED on the V30 to consume far, far less energy.

I know it sounds unlikely, but it really does work to extend battery life significantly.

I rank batteries that only last a day to be extremely poor, and those that last a few days to be "good". I am measuring against how batteries used to last a week on phones. It's gotten worse only due to intentional bad design (and I am blaming you, Apple, for all these ideas, bad and good, that others copy!), and nothing else. I'm not going go lower my expectations to accept pathetic weak batteries as any sort of "good" simply because the industry has chosen to cripple batteries over the past 12 years or so in order to make phones super-thin.

Imagine that V30 with the equivalent of 3 extra batteries, while the tradeoff is being heavier and 4 or 5 mm thicker. You'd have 3 to 5 day battery life.... and I'd give those a letter grade of C or B-. As opposed to the failing grades the others all now get (rare exceptions being that new Moto E4, which I would give a D- on battery life because it lasts a little longer than a day).
