I watched Apple Event and, if I understand correctly, new iPhones will have only eSims. No more actual SIM cards. No SIM card trays.

That is correct. I just called Verizon today to have them move my account from a physical SIM to an eSIM in my current iPhone so that I will be ready to just transfer that setup when I get the new iPhone.

That sucks. While I understand its a few pennies in the build, that removes a bit of flexibility on the customer side. I.e. if I crack my phone ... I can't just pull a SIM and stick it into another device. In theory - carrier could block if they wanted to.

A lot of the prepaid brands are offering eSim, like US Mobile and Visible make it really easy.

T-Mobile postpaid is also makes it easy to transfer to eSim.

Glad I didn’t by Red Pocket for my dual Sim.

Nice, it looks like Apple actually brought back the Gold color. I stopped getting the Gold color because it was more like pinkish color and I really loved the Gold colored iPhone's. As for the lack of the SIM tray, I haven't had to use it ever since making the transition to the eSIM.

Just don't go to amusement parks, esp. roller coasters with an iPhone 14

I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I will stay with it for awhile. I find it strange that Apple is still using the outmoded I/O port.

Agreed. New iPhone 14 pro and pro have been in short supply but have been available to savvy customers who check online store availability and buy online and they may have to decide on a different color or storage capacity if the one they want is not in stock at a store that may be further away. I’m passing on the iPhone 14 Pro and will wait for the 15 Pro or later as my existing subsidized phone has another year and also I am not impressed with the 14 Pro over the previous models. The 15 series will finally have usb-c and other changes which will eventually be announced. The iPad Pro line this year was a disappointment. Was looking to upgrade my ipad but the Pro model is missing mini led on the 11” or OLED and has other limitations so I am holding off to see what the next years model will offer.

I met them and the 256GB Space Black 14 Pro decided to move in. It’s been fantastic. ❤️

No, whitelisting is not just used for that context, nor telephony industry in general.

It's just a general English term to signify the inverse of blacklisting.
