I've got more phones than fingers
I have a solo account with only a byop tmo line and I also can not get the basic plans to apply no matter how I try. I get the plan but can't add to cart. Tried android and website.
In the past it has been try and try again and eventually it will offer and apply. So we shall see if they are closing this loophole a bit more for people that don't have a basic plan or phone somewhere in the history of the line or account.

It worked with 2 different accounts, each with iPhone XR on 500/500/500 plan, on the IOS app. All basic plans showed up and I was able to 'buy' a $9.99 basic planOriginally Posted by mango3

I don't know if this is the right place to post about Spin the Wheel, but TF sent an email to invite me to spin one day so I did and got "try again tomorrow."
Today isn't tomorrow, that was a few days ago, but I tried again today and when I tapped spin, the screen faded and I saw the sign in page instead of the wheel. I was already signed in. Ridiculous. Stuff like that is why I gave up spinning. I win more when I do laundry. (Woohoo, found 26˘ after the final spin when I washed clothes in the laundry room).
I have 901 points for being in the rewards program but as far as I can tell, $5/1000 texts is all I can use it for and I have a lot of those. I'd rather wait until I have enough to use it for airtime.

I thought I had really messed up my points this week. My AAL flip phone unlocked two days ago,(61 days after activation) so I went through that process no problem. But I had forgotten that my points had to be added manually by support a couple days later…
Always best to wait for points to vest before unlocking, I thought, so I was nervous. But tonight, they vested as expected (61 days after they were added).
I realise with Tracfone everything is YMMV, but thought I’d post in case others are in a similar situation.

Moving devices / lines in or out of your MyAccount, letting a line reach its Service End Date, those things can impact whether or not your pending RPs vest successfully or just disappear on Day 60.
But the UNLOCKING process has nothing to do with the RP systems, they literally do not affect each other at all.

On the topic of basic plans showing up on non basic accounts, while I've found the iOS app works most of the time, I do have one stubborn account -- it has solely a TMO BYOP line -- that no matter what way (Android, iOS, Web) or time I try, I can never get basic plans to show. Most others eventually do show up. With that one, have to scrape together a 1000 more points than normal to keep it live (basically, I'm letting my VZW accounts just expire since you can always just create no ones and I don't care about the numbers, but keeping the TMO/ATT lines active as long as I can before they kick us all out).

I'll go so far as to admit I'm being a stubborn reactionary here, acting as if my refusal to accept their monopolistic tactics will have an impact.
We now have 20x more "GSM" lines with TF now than a year ago, many of them prepaid now for YEARS of service, and I'd happily spend more money on FCC filings, joining class-actions whatever it takes to throw sand in their gears.

If I buy an iPhone without the plan, can I use it as a Wifi only device? During its activation, I am not sure if it needs to have a signal.

Yes, you can. However, it's simple to have the iPhone unlocked. All you need is a $9.99 30-day basic plan service PIN from the Tracfone eBay store for activation and wait 60 days. You don't need to insert the SIM to set up the phone.

If you use the iPhone (or any cell phone) as a Wifi device, an activation is not needed.

maybe I am wrong but I think there is 2 ways to reedem stuff on the ios app..
one way is to hit the buy plan on the front page and it brings up the option to buy with $$$
the other way is to go into my rewards and select reedem points and do it that way with points
which one is working for you or which one are you doing?
