Looking to Unlock a old GSM AT&T Nokia 2720 Flip for use on T-Mobile

I have a spare free line with T-Mobile I'd like to put on this phone since their GSM network may be around for a while since there still is no shut down date. When I put the T-Mobile SIM in it says phone restricted and asks for a code.

I tried AT&T's unlock website but it gives me a error. "Your unlock request was denied because your phone is no longer active on an AT&T account. Re-submit your request and select 'no' to the "Are you an AT&T Wireless Customer question"."

I had this phone on AT&T Prepaid for over a year about 8 years ago.

The unlocking website all appear to charge more than the phone is worth, I could just buy one used that is already unlocked cheaper.

What are my options? Is there anything I can do to it if I invest in a USB cable for it?

Also, if I invest in the USB cable is there a way for me to flash it to T-Mobile firmware since this phone was sold by both AT&T and T-Mobile I assume there are both firmware's available.

That is an 8-year-old phone and is not a 4G VOLTE device. It only has 4G LTE for data and cannot be activated on a US carrier any longer. What would be the point of unlocking a phone that you can't activate? You should pick a different model cell phone that is compatible.

That's what they want you to think.

I can put my T-Mobile SIM into any unlocked phone and it will work. T-Mobile's GSM network is still up and running. I have already tested this in other 2G/3G only devices that are already unlocked and they make calls and send/receive texts just fine on T-Mobile's 2G GSM/EDGE network.

Your options for unlocking the phone are limited as it is an older model and has been inactive on an AT&T account for some time. As long as the phone has been active on prepaid for six months then u should be provided with working unlock code?
