Best unlimited talk and text 2023

With the Red Pocket complaints what other MVNO would you recommend for unlimited talk and text that is cheap that is not Verizon based? Data is not an issue as I am using Visible but since Verizon cannot port my number to them, I need a separate talk and text line on my iPhone.

ESIM is preferable but not required as I can run Visible off the eSim if needed.

    Boost Mobile $ 15 plan

    Connect by T-Mobile $ 15 plan (or $ 10 if 1000 min/text is enough)

Gen Mobile $ 10 plan (not sure about eSIM with this one, but the 2 above support eSIM on iPhones for sure)

Tello $8 month, no data, above option include some data as a back to your Visible

Ultra, lyca and mint may be worth looking into as well

Yep. Just signed my son up yesterday. Unlimited talk and text and 500 MBs of high speed data for $5 a month (not every 30 days) with no fees or taxes.
Pixel 3a on Tello — Alcatel Go Flip 3 on Tello — TCL Flip 2 on Hello Mobile — iPhone SE on FreedomPop — TCL Flip 2 on Tracfone

No T&F from Hello Mobile or from your State?

How much are add-on GBs and do they roll over at all?

see they have " $15 extra for Mobile Hotspot" - does $15 get you unlimited hotspot?

Appreciate the insight. Any of these have issues with the SIM jacking I heard about recently?

Curious about this as well. Not much information on their website.

They don't charge taxes or fees anywhere. Should also mention that the unlimited talk includes over 60 countries (about 30 just landline and about 30 landline and cell phones).

I don't think they have any add-on GB plans. And they don't roll over data.

EDIT: I guess once you're logged in they do have two add-ons. $10 for 1 GB and unlimited talk and text (same as their normal plan price). And an add-on called "Dollar Day." $1 for unlimited talk and text for 24 hours.

There's also three "World Link" plans. $3, $5 and $10 that allow you to call overseas at per minute rates, which are different for cell phones and landlines, and depending on country. I have no idea why anyone would do this when they could call these countries for free in the $5 monthly plan.

No, just on whatever data your plan comes with. That's why I also have Tello accounts (probably only one Tello account shortly), because they do include Mobile Hotspot. But they cost more for unlimited minutes and texts with 500 MBs of data ($9). But if you don't don't need unlimited talk, 300 minutes and 500 MBs is $7 and tax in Idaho is 5 cents. So $7.05 total. If you want a GB of data and 300 minutes, it's $8 (plus 6 cents tax) so $8.06.

I'm totally ignorant about that. SIM jacking? If they've had any trouble with it, I'm not aware of it. But, since I don't know what it is, that's not saying much.

i believe any SIM swap hacks are more likely with a major MNO carrier than small MVNO, there is simply a bigger attack surface and more of possible reward, they would also be going after an group with verified good credit.

even if MVNO accounts were to be victims it would likely be through the MNO's wholesale systems as opposed to the systems controlled by the MVNO's

overall though on MVNO i would presume the smaller and less known the safer and the bigger the more likely of a target. i believe Visible and tracfone have both been hacked/breached in the past. seem to recall Metro as part of a broader T-Mobile hack. 100 % owned by Verizon and T-Mobile. i can't recall hearing of any others.
