Just contacted TF via corporate number. They were able to add the additional service days and text and data which was missing. No issues and even a little extra. Just took a little time.
Great result, congrats
Just transfered a second number to another ebay preloaded sim. Did it online this time. Chat said they couldn't activate it because the network was not available in my area.
Activation on line went great, had service within 5 minutes. T/T/D transfered correctly. The preloaded service give me nothing even though chat had confirmed there was service on the sim. Contacted corporate and they added everything after asking for the ebay order number.
Another excellent datapoint, thank you
I'll have to keep that in mind - I went thru 3 of those SIMs, none giving me that "preloaded" service; standard CS knows nothing about such things. Only good part is the eBay refund process was easy, and like others have said, (eventually) they don't require the SIM to be returned.
Even though they don't require the sim be returned I was afraid they would deactivate the sim. It would be a nightmare if your number was attached to that sim.
Yup, I did. Had to call CSR and get a call back from higher level rep. Not doing these eBay deals anymore. Plus that phone is going to Tello when it runs out. (See other thread.)
Posting this so maybe TF might realize that their incompetence is losing them long time customers (been using TF since before smartphones) and that their data costs are too high (since they killed off promo codes).
Last week, my brother's old Samsung's Notes died with a swollen battery. I gave him a TF-unlocked Moto G Power to use with his postpaid T-mo plan. I put the SIM from his Notes into the G Power, it showed the phone number in About Phone but had no service. He went to the T-mo store to have service transferred over. and the sales rep told him that the phone is not on the "approved" list. He already spent a long time in the store and wasn't able to call me for more details because his phone was dead. So he ended up buying a phone from T-mo. When he got home and told me, I showed him that the IMEI Checker on T-mo shows the Moto G Power as compatible. Those sales reps are a bunch of crooks.
