Transfer existing physical SIM service to eSIM

What are the experiences of transferring existing Tracfone service from a physical SIM to an eSIM?
    Smooth?

I also intend to harvest minutes/data/days in the future by transferring from eSIM to a new Tracfone with preloaded service and back. Any experience with this?

From what was posted in this forum, currently only eSIM on certain iPhones are supported. I also remember that eSIM could only be used on a new activation, not a transfer of an existing line. But things might have changed with the info posted at the TF link below:

When I just activated a new iPhone 11 from Tracfone with a transfer of service, I was asked if I wanted to use the physical SIM or eSIM. I selected the physical, so don't know what would have happened, especially since the 11 is not listed in that link.

The question of "physical SIM or eSIM" is asked for all activations regardless of the device. I don't know what it would say if I selected "eSIM" for an Android phone.

From experience across many providers, my advice is if possible, do all activations / upgrades / transfers / plan changes using pSIM

Then only after things have tested out, working smoothly for a week or more

switch over from pSIM to eSIM without making any concurrent changes to your line / service

What I intend to do is:
iPhone 13 physical SIM (Tracfone AT&T) --> Tracfone flip phone physical SIM (Tracfone Verizon) with preloaded service combine with iPhone 13 minutes/data/days --> iPhone 13 eSIM (Tracfone Verizon)

with the iPhone 13 being the same phone.

Yes, no eSIM. Tracfone (AT&T) service with a physical SIM.

Is the 13 BYOP unlocked, or a Tracfone 13, that was recently offered.

On the web, in your account, choose activate, keeping the flip phone’s number, choose esim, follow the prompts,
When its done, go to settings on the phone and watch for the Tracfone wants to activate the esim.

I just got a 14 Pro Max delivered; I had T-Mobile postpaid on my eSIM and an AT&T BYOP SIM setup with my 13 Pro. My T-Mobile eSIM transferred flawlessly and I had to setup a transfer to Verizon eSIM online for my TracFone service. We’ll see if it goes through smoothly, but at least the option to transfer existing TF service to eSIM is available now. It wasn’t when it first came out.

Sent from my iPhone using HoFo
Castrol EDGE 0W-20 is my drug of choice.

Primary: iPhone 14 Pro Max (T-Mobile & Verizon); Galaxy S21+ (Verizon)
    Mobile Broadband: Franklin T10 LTE hotspot (5GB for $8.50) / iPad mini 6 5G (unlimited 5G data)

    Update: all set!

An eSIM profile was pushed to my iPhone overnight, I installed it and it showed service but didn't work. Texting 611611 said 0 in all buckets. I chatted with care and they said it's not done provisioning. After I hung up, the TF eSIM showed "SOS only" (uh oh!) and basically was not active anymore. A new TF eSIM profile was pushed to my phone after that, activated, and all my balances showed up and everything works great. Not sure what that first eSIM profile was for but either way, just glad everything transferred correctly. I did everything online and was transferring from a TF AT&T BYOP SIM to Verizon eSIM.

I'm not super happy about losing the physical SIM slot on my iPhone and planned to keep my 13 Pro for a while but Costco had an amazing deal on the 14 Pro Max w/ AC+ so I jumped on it. The 13 Pro is by far my favorite phone in a long time.

Did you see the first esim right away, or was there some time before you saw it.
