She's had always liked Samsung, had the S5, S8, and S9. Tried the S10 when it came out and neither of us liked it. I think the S22 for her is a good phone, but she still likes the S9 more, the way everything looks on the screen and has the notification light, which the S9 was the last Samsung with it as far as I know. Too bad the A series doesn't had the LED Notification on the front. I'll be interested to see how she likes it (it doesn't) when I get it in tomorrow.

I've always used the note series since the Note 3, 5, 9, and Note 10 Plus, except the 1 year I tried LG G5. Tried the Note 20 last month but since the 5G is missing band n77 I had to go with the S22 Ultra, which I'm fine with.

We got in the new A54 today, and it's too big for my mom's hand. The S9 (and S22) are basically the same small size and fits comfortably in her hand. But she like the S9 more because of how the font size is in the message app and the LED Notification light. So I guess she'll be going ng back to it. I might try another S20 renewed again, but the ones I got in last month were in bad shape even though they were listed as Excellent condition.

Just wanted to update that after my mom tried the S20, S21 and S22, she still liked her S9 better. I did order a S10 (listed as Amazon Renewed Excellent Condition but had a ton of screen scratches). So she's back to using the S9. She's just use to the way it feels, the OS still being on Android 11 (as Android 13 on the newer phones changed some things), and that the S9 has the LED notification light that is easy to tell if there is a message without having to get close and try to see the always on display icons.
